Bauer's Jewelry was founded in 1891 by C.F. Bauer. Bauer's interest in jewelry started with taking jewels out to the lumber camps to sell to the lumberman. Years later Bauer hired two brothers to work in his store, Laurence E. Schultz and Jack M. Schultz. Both brothers worked for Mr. Bauer until his death in 1929.
Laurence E. Schultz bought the store from Mrs. Bauer during the depression on a 10 year contract. In 1933 Jack M. Schultz briefly took a job at Bud's Jewelry in Kalamazoo, Mi. for $25.00 a week while Laurence held down the store in Saginaw.

Highly recommend going to this shop. It's a nice family owned business and a big part of Saginaw history. I have several pieces from this place and everything is great quality. My family has been going here for years. And to my surprise so has my fiance family. Steve is wonderful to work with and does a great job looking over and cleaning my rings. He also has been so helpful with helping my fiance and I pick out our wedding bands. If your looking for a unique jewelry store with great prices this is the place for you.

Really helpful staff, very respectful of your right to safety during the covid crisis. They did a wonderful job wrapping the gift for my girlfriend, it was so pretty she didnt want to open it! When she did her jaw dropped at the beautiful piece of jewelry they helped me pick out. They also fixed a watch of mine and did a good job and got it done quick. One of Saginaw's hidden gems, a true diamond in the rough! Seriously though I love this little family run jewelry store.

A really nice, family owned, jewelry store that has been part of the historic "Old-Town" Saginaw for as long as anyone can remember. They restored a family heirloom back to its former glory when other businesses said it wasn't possible, and I couldn't be happier with the results! For generations, the family that owns it has been committed to giving their customers a personalized experience that you just can't get at the mall. The two brothers have almost 100 years combined experience in goldsmithing and watchmaking, and can be trusted with any job.
