Bridgewater Jewelers is located in historic New Castle, Delaware. We are the oldest family-owned and operated jewelry store in the nation and reside in one of the oldest buildings in the historic town. For more than 135 years, the foundation of Bridgewater Jewelers has always been, and always will be, a focus on superior business ethics, quality, service and fairness.
Bridgewater's heritage was borne from necessity. When James Goslin Bridgewater was 6 years old, he lost his leg in a wood chopping accident. Needing to find a trade where he could sit, he became a jeweler. Years later, after coming to Delaware from England he established Bridgewater Jewelers in Wilmington in 1883.
Our computerized and laser engravers give us the ability to fit every need and occasion. We have a variety of fonts to choose from and can scan logos, handwriting, special symbols and designs to engrave on the item of your choice. We specialize in wine bottle engraving, which makes an excellent gift or a thank you with your company logo.
Bridgewater Jewelers is pleased to announce our newest opportunity for brides: Rent bridal jewelry for your wedding day! We understand the cost of a wedding today can be prohibitive, so our new service is a cost-effective alternative, that gives customers the ability to borrow jewelry and then return it.

Had my husband's wedding band sized down. They ruined the hammer finish on the outside by completely polishing it down, but managed to leave all of the scratches on the inside and outside from them working on it. This was only being sized down half a size. His wedding band now looks like it got ran over by a car and rubbed against coarse sandpaper after.
The sales people have no knowledge of the process for sizing plain bands, and spoke to me like I didn't know what I was talking about when I acknowledged their poor workmanship. Will never go back here again.
