I have walked past Brodney's a number of times, and I finally was able to have some free time to stop in today. This is a beautiful antique & estate store, and it has been family owned for 75 years. There are so many beautiful items in here, from jewelry to decor to art. There's many collectors items that you cannot find anywhere else! Olga helped me pick out some beautiful diamond earrings, and we had great rapport speaking about different items from jewelry, to watches, to the beautiful Russian malachite obelisks in the front that always catch my eye in the front window.

She was extremely patient and welcoming, going into detail about each item I was looking into. I didn't feel pressured to purchase anything, even though I spent an ample amount of time looking around at absolutely every item. The owner was also very nice and helpful. If you have the time, I definitely recommend stopping by. There's something here for everyone at practically every price point.

Always fantastic! Too many pretty things to choose from! Owners and staff are so knowledgeable. I often walk in, state an occasion, age and a little about the person and they will always present several options. Not only is everything beautiful and unique, you have the satisfaction of shopping at a long-time, family-owned business. A great place to find a special gift for someone special, or something special for yourself &/or your own home.

I would give Brodney's 12 stars if that rating were available. Great selection of merchandise, superior, awesome customer service and fair pricing. I hadn't been shopping in a long time, thanks to Covid, but what a way to dive back in. This is a MUST stop for jewelry hounds in Boston! Thrilled with my purchase! They did exactly what they promised to make my ring ready for me! I'll be back the next time I'm in Boston!

We found this quaint antique shop while waiting for a restaurant to open. Although we had to be buzzed in-which can be intimidating, the staff was friendly & welcoming. They showed us any item that caught our eye. My daughter found a pair of earrings with hand painted portraits on them. I was intrigued! The lady told me hey we're over 100 year old buttons from a mans vest-retooled into earrings. I bought them & adore them. I recommend stopping here to find an ancient treasure!

Very nice people with a truly unique curated collection. I purchased two pieces of fine jewelry and couldn't be happier with their professionalism and quality. They even shipped them to me with minor modifications. A+ Thank you!

Wonderful family owned antique store. Fantastic collection of antique jewelry. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who are super kind, patient and understanding with indecisive &/or unconfident shoppers! The store has great history, with important Boston connections (be sure to ask about the Brodney paintings in the State house!).

I've waited more than a year to write this review. I purchased this beautiful rose gold and diamond ring in November 2018. When I bought it, sensing my uncertainty in what size I wanted (wasn't sure if I wanted it for my pointer or ring finger), Nicole kindly offered that if at any point I wanted to resize it, Brodney would take care of it free of charge.

Well a few weeks ago, I was back up in Boston and I wanted to change the ring size from 7 to 5. And just like that, no questions asked, Nicole kindly took my ring, resized it in less than a week (even amidst this crazy corona situation), and shipped it to my home. Thank you Brodney!

I stopped in as I collect obscure serving pieces and figured an antique place on Newbury would have some items. As a person of color entering the sales force came out in mass making me feeling very uncomfortable. They were three across like an armed militia. I told them that. I was stunned, just stunned at that kind of treatment on Newbury. So off I went to go shopping at David Yurman mic drop here.

Great art and service. I contacted them via email for a painting on their web site. I negotiated a price and easily paid over the phone. We talked about the artist and art in general. They had the painting crated and shipped. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a "real crate". I have purchased art across the country and world. I have never received a piece of art packed as well!

Salesman was helpful. The prices were over the top. cheapest thing I saw was $100. Item that I was thinking of getting was around 550. Might've been because of location. saw the same one for less, different Antique Store, outside of Boston.

Excellent selection of antiques and jewelry. Everyone I've met here has been very courteous, even when it's clear I'm just browsing. Solid return policy in case you're worried a gift won't be received in the way you hope.

Always welcoming, always has new (that is, old estate) things. You must visit regularly to catch things as they come in. A family business, they will get to know your tastes and recommend things that are appropriate.

Beautiful selection, I was originally talking with a salesman, but the female manager with the bob, Nicki, took over and she is absolutely awful. Worst customer service ever. Very condescending. Extremely disrespectful. It got to a point where I almost didn't buy the ring I wanted because she was so awful. I don't think I'll ever go here again and I certainly won't be directing any of my friends here. Do not shop here unless you want to be treated like absolute garbage.

Bought a gift for my brother here, and when he didn't like it, was easily able to return it for a full refund. Friendly people, a bit overpriced, but fair business practices.

Got a great deal on a bronze sculpture by Donald De Lue. Come in and look. They are willing to negotiate and you can get some real bargains if you are knowledgeable about auction prices.

Fantastic selection of antiques and breathtaking jewellery. Visiting from out of town, we got buzzed in with our 2 young kids in town. I expected them to be concerned about the kids given so many breakable sin the store- but they were actually quite gracious. The salesman, who turned out to be owner was very helpful and really took time to show us every single earring in the showcase.

We ended up purchasing gold earrings with yellow diamonds - stunning. Ended up purchasing MUCH more expensive item than we intended but it was a good deal and service was outstanding. Great experience and highly recommended.

Went in to gawk at the engagement rings and the young lady was just so helpful and insightful! I wish we caught her name but she was encouraging us try on rings all while educating us on the history/specs/prices. She must have talked to us for 20 minutes comparing the Tiffany and Vera Wang rings, to all the vintage rings. She knew we weren't buying but still made our whole day by conversing with us. I'm in no place to be engaged but I found my absolute dream ring at Brodneys.

Update: We just bought my fiance's wedding band at Brodney's and they were super helpful and friendly, yet again. I recently looked at rings at Brodney's. Danielle was friendly and helpful. I have somewhat unusual taste and she didn't try to press anything on me. Some jewelry associates (elsewhere) can be pushy and try to convince you what looks "good", but Danielle listened to my preferences and helped me to find options that were a match. We didn't buy anything but I would absolutely come back here again. Pleasant experience and they have a good selection of rings in a wide range of prices and styles.

Disappointing. I brought a strand of beads to be strung. Because of their shapes they were kinking. I was impressed by the store and trusted that they would be knowledgable enough to know how to restring them so they would hang properly. Instead they basically changed the string and never addressed the kinking issue. I had a similar necklace years ago that were the same type of bead but apparently were knotted between each bead, to prevent the kinking. Additionally, they charged well above what they quoted. I am not impressed.

Brodney's is simply the best. The service is personal, attentive and all the salespeople are incredibly knowledgeable. I trust them and their inventory 110%. Over the years I have gone to this store for all important jewelry purchases (engagement, wedding band, watch) but they also have some fun, retro, less expensive selections also. I have sent no less than 20 friends there who have also had the same wonderful experience and come away with breathtaking jewelry.

And if they have an antique ring you need larger or would prefer a different variation, they can have it replicated it for the fairest prices I have ever seen. In the end, Brodney's adds a personal touch you only get from a family who has specialized in this business for over 75 years. I HIGHLY recommend this store.

Went to look at estate engagement rings. The woman at the counter looked like a wax figure and barely moved when we walked in. We went to the ring case and every single ring was identical. I cant imagine that they have collected all these estate pieces from differnt places and they just so happen to look alike?!?P The man that came to help us smelt like his sub (with pickles) and even burped at the counter when he approached us.

He then proceeded to use his grimy hands to pick up every single ring (well who knows it wasn't the same one over and over again, they did all look alike) and hand them to me with out even asking me what I liked. Then when I would hand them back he would abruptly grab it out of my hand. SUCH A JOKE!

Went in to this business with a low budget, looking for a gift for my wife. I had wonderful experience, mostly because the staff immediately assisted me in narrowing down what exactly I was looking for. In the end, I was extremely satisfied with my purchase and the overall service. The guy working there went above and beyond in helping me. Support great local businesses such as this one!

Impressive inventory (was there specifically looking at estate rings), but the service was really gnarly. After putting a Power-Rangeresque ring on her finger, my girlfriend remarked that the size was a bit large for her finger. The salesguy asserted that her opinion was wrong. After a little more (gentle) back-and-forth, the salesguy brought in a salesgirl to "enhance" the store's opinion.

None of this created an aggressive or unpleasant atmosphere, but I really got the sense that these people were trying to push jewelry down our throats. Back off, people. Sell to our preferences.

I recently received my engagement ring from brodney's, and i couldn't be happier. i told my boyfriend i wanted a ring with a history to it (and no conflict diamonds for me), and he found brodney's on yelp. he brought in some pictures of things i had said i liked in the past, and the staff (especially Nicky) helped him figure out something that i really, really liked. i could only imagine how hard buying an engagement ring must be for a guy but they really helped him have a good experience. we'll definitely be back for our wedding bands!

So I've been spending a lot of time looking and wedding rings and jewelry, since my mom doesn't want to give me some vintage bling just yet. I stopped by here the other day to browse, and they definitely have a good selection here. The good selection doesn't just range for jewelry, but for all antiques. Miniatures. Paintings. Silver. China. Vintage Flasks.

They got it all. While everything that I really was into was a ridiculous amount of money, they were really nice about showing me whatever I wanted and giving me ideas. I will definitely be back to browse!

Great collection of jewelry (some estate, some classics), antiques and art (mostly European, some Asian). The people are very sweet which is a breath of fresh air on Newbury Street. I will definitely go back to pick up a pair of earrings and perhaps antique tea cups.

What a fantastic shop! They have an amazing selection of antique jewelry ( I found my wedding band here, platinum and 9 diamonds from the 1920-s for what I thought was pretty inexpensive). They also have other antique furniture, home decor and art. 2 floors filled with museum like artifacts that are wonderful to look at and study. The owner and staff are quite friendly. Don't ket the door buzzing entrance fool you, they treated me (a heavily tattoos chick with an obvious lack of money aura) with the same respect as all the other Newbury Street bitches.
