Many years ago Anne McCracken said I should have an art gallery but I didn't see where I would put it. When years ago we visited the old Gump's store in San Francisco and Richard Gump had a small gallery of California works, I wish we'd bought one of those California Impressionists then! When Philip McCracken's last gallery closed in Seattle and the works returned to him, my son Philip suggested that we show these works in a new gallery space.
We excel in custom jewelry design done in house. We can take your vision of a special jewelry piece from dream to reality in a few weeks. Douglas and Philip Burton have been designing jewelry for decades and can create a concept drawing that then becomes a wax model which is used to create the casting mold for the piece.

Burton's has previously overhauled my ancient watch that has sentimental value and they did a great job. Today I took it in because the clasp was loose. They not only repaired the clasp in 5 minutes at no charge, but cleaned it as well!

They rebuilt my great grandmothers wedding ring, with the same stones and platinum (with a bit of added platinum, as it was about 100 years old, and bent horribly out of shape!) I couldn't be happier, it's beautiful, a truly priceless family heirloom

I took an old and valuable piece of jewelry in to be repaired. It was done well, quickly, and at a lesser cost than I was expecting. Some of the staff were brisk and businesslike, some warm and charming. I wasn't shopping for anything, but, while waiting for an estimate on the repair cost, I looked through the store and they have an interesting selection of items. I would absolutely return.

Great shop. I have my rings resized here when needed. They are reasonable in their pricing. I've also had a jewelry appraisal done. They have a quick turnaround for their work.

A few years after the loss of my husband I decided to remove my wedding ring. However it could only be removed by having it cut off as it would not slip off of my ring finger. This was not an easy task for me to do and rather an emotional one for me. Phil Burton showed me the kindest of care during his service to do the task at hand. He cleaned my wedding ring and presented it to me in an envelope.

When I asked how much I owed him for his service he declined to take any money at all. I left feeling that there is genuine kindness in this world and I am forever grateful to Phil for making this time less painful for me. Thank You Phil Burton you are a real gem.

I've been noticed five times now about Holly updating her comments on my review. My experience with this person and business just gets less unprofessional all the time. Hence, why I have rated it as I have. Secondly, Holly, you didn't use the back computer when I was there.however someone ran up to you while you were entering my job in the system at the front.

She was waving her hands and motioning you away from the computer as if she was anxious and very upset. You can try and comment on everything I have experienced, trying to make the customer sound bad. Ultimately, it just reinforces my experience. This is a review of what I experienced dealing with you and the store. Apparently your business thinks the customer is always wrong. I've been in the customer service world for nearly 40 years now. While customers are not always right, they do deserve better treatment and reviews are a chance for businesses to learn.

Update: I picked my ring up today. Not only does it look great (and fit properly), but they acknowledged the long wait and waived the cost. I was shocked; I never expected them to have done the work for free (just the acknowledgement was enough to please me), but that really shows that they're willing to take care of the customer! That kind of customer service is rare these days.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced at any business in this town. They profile patrons and if they think you are a big spending potential customer, they offer you cookies and all their attentions. If you are an average person just in for a look and possibly to buy something then you are totally ignored. The Burton's rude and act as though they haven't time for you, and that you are bothering them. I will never darken their door again and I will tell all my friends in town as I am local. Oh and this is not just a one off experience.

The people at Burton are amazing! We came to them to have a custom ring made with my company logo on it, they went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect and the final product was absolutely amazing! I feel I have the coolest ring on the entire planet! We have bought several other items from them and the quality, customer service, and overall experience is second to none! If you are in the market for jewelry, watches, crystal glass, or various other eclectic one of a kind items, this is definitely the place for you!

I took a silver sterling set in to have it engraved. It came back scratched but they refused to accept responsibility for it. Also they would not honor discount coupon from the Kiwanas.

I have been a customer here for 10 years. Though I regrettably don't live in Anacortes anymore, when visiting there this past summer, I dropped off my 25-year-old wedding ring for repairs -- serious repairs -- because I trust Phil Burton, Jr. I won't go anywhere else. My ring is best described as a 'trinity ring' because it is 3 bands in one. All of the many stones are pave' set meaning they are individually inlaid into their respective prongs.

In addition to having a missing diamond, the prongs were worn down and there would be a continuous, ongoing danger of losing other diamonds because of the inability of the short prongs to hold the other tiny diamonds in place. Bob (the goldsmith) and I discussed both doing the work and not doing the work. Choosing to do the work because of my sentimental attachment to my wedding ring, I trusted him to advise which prongs should be rebuilt so as to lessen the danger of losing more diamonds in the future.

The more labor, the greater the cost. Burton's does not do work quickly. I always wait longer than the estimated time to get my jewelry back. However, because I trust them to get the job done in expert fashion the work is worth the wait. If there is a delay that is becoming unreasonable, Phil usually adjusts the price on the backside and undercuts his original bid for the work, not by a lot but again, enough to reward me for the delay.

In the final analysis, I have always been satisfied with the work and service performed by Burton Jewelers. I also want to give a 'shout out' to Anna Maria, a young woman perfectly suited to customer service. She listens well and then soon after my phone call gets me an answer to the question posed. Well done, Anna Maria!

I am writing this review for locals to advise them to NOT go to this shop. I dropped off both my engagement and wedding ring to this jewelry shop four weeks ago to get the size adjusted. They told me that they would do the adjustment and call me back to pick them up and that it would take a maximum of 1.5 weeks. I patiently waited three weeks before I called them, assuming they were backed up on orders, but found out that they have not even proceeded with the order.

My rings are unique in the fact that they are a blended material of silver and gold and when I called them, they told me that they did not make any adjustments because they couldn't get a proper reading on the material and that if they were to proceed forward, there was a potential that the rings could break. I advised them not to proceed with the order and that I would come by and pick them up.

I went to the shop the following day but was told that the jeweler still had them and that I should again wait one more day to pick them up and that they would call me when they came in. I waited yet another day and received no call. I then called them and the lady told me that they must have forgotten to pick them up from the jeweler and that they would not be going to meet with him for another five days and that I had to wait again for another week before I could pick them up!

It has not been four weeks since I dropped off my rings and there is another week minimum before I get them. When I dropped off the rings I had a bad feeling about the place; I should have trusted me gut. Now I am thinking that they either lost my rings, broke them, or are just absolutely terrible with customer service. I adore my rings and I would love to be able to wear them ASAP.

I WOULD NOT advise anyone to go to this shop. The customer service is terrible. They do not stay true to their word. Most importantly, it has now been a month and I have not received my rings when they promised that it would take a maximum of 1.5 weeks. DO NOT GO HERE.

I had to take the my ring into ANOTHER jeweler to have the replaced prong fixed. Since I am not confident in the work. Went to Charles Jewelers in Burlington who kindly fixed it for free and polished it too. What a difference.

Doug and Phillip Burton's jewelry shop is, in my mind, second to none. While they may not be a discount shop, their prices are very reasonable and their product is Top Notch! You can trust them with your most difficult repairs and with any special projects. They are able to make unique pieces which will last the test of time both in durability and in style.
