I bought an engagement ring from Matt a few months ago. Things are going well, so we went back for wedding rings. As last time, Matt has been super-helpful. He's got all angles covered, he calls back when he says he will, and he follows through. He even used his personal cell phone to send me pix of some other rings he looked up when I wasn't there. OUTSTANDING!

We checked two other local jewelry stores, as my fiance was not 100% sure about the wedding ring. The other places, even bigger chain stores, didn't have staff as knowledgeable and somehow didn't have as good of a selection either. (even though they're bigger!) It turned out they had something my fiance liked better than the original one, so she was 100% sure.

They even saved it for her. I was the one who was tricky, because although I didn't want anything fancy with stones, I was particular about the material. I knew I didn't want gold, and I learned about other materials: ceramic, (scratch-proof, but brittle) titanium, (strong, warm, light, but scratches easily) cobalt, (hard and scratch-resistant, but not TOO hard or heavy) tungsten (super hard and dense; not quite as hard or brittle as ceramic).

I settled on a brushed titanium band, but with stepped down edges that are polished. Since they're stepped down, they won't be as prone to getting scratched as the raised portion.

The consultant we spoke with was very pleasant and helpful to point he could be. I'm giving three stars for a few reasons. There are insane markups on the jewelry. Comparatively to any other brick and mortar or online retailer, it was the most expensive. They have some cool, unique pieces. My problem was not only the high prices but their business practices. Questions about warranty were beat around the bush. Certificate of authenticity was beat around the bush.

After second questions about that, the salesman felt no need to continue speaking with me. Completely ignored now. A few other reasons will keep me from doing business with them. Unfortunate!

I dropped a Seiko diving watch off for a new band, which they are a dealer for. They had the watch for about 2 months and said their supplier discontinued the band and they couldn't get me a generic band. I found the original OEM band and a generic on Amazon in 5 minutes, bought the generic for $10 and I installed it in less than 5 minutes. They missed an easy opportunity to keep a customer, disappointing.

The team at Herbert's did an amazing job on my wedding ring! They fixed a missing stone and resized my ring. There was a bit of miscommunication but they handled it professionally and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my business. HIGHLY SATISFIED!

Any time through the years, it has always been a pleasant shopping experience at Herberts. If I wasnt sure of what I really was looking for, the associates could always be helpful. I love that I can stop in and they would so kind to clean & check my rings. Thank you Herberts for being there for Kenosha.

Kenosha's best jeweler for sure! Great warranties, excellent repair work, and they are fair in price! My grandparents gifted me a gold necklace and I'm so glad they bought it from Herbert's! The necklace was damaged during a game of basketball and Herbert's repaired it lickety split! Thank you so much for preserving the necklace my grandparents gave me! A true 5 star store!

We told a friend of ours that we were looking for new rings for our 30 year anniversary. He recommended we go to Herberts. Boy was that the right choice! Mellisa was absolutely awesome. The rings are absolutely beautiful! Thanks Herberts!

Went for simple battery replacement on 4 watches. after waiting for 20 minutes they replaced batteries on 2 and returned the other 2 not replaced. They suggested I returned when they can send them out to a local jeweler. If I had known before they wasted the only time I could spare on this, I could have gone elsewhere. The old Herbert's could repair/replace anything. They should NOT use a family name if they can't live up to family standards!

Upon receiving my ring in the mail smashed, I brought it to Herbert's Jewlers in hope they would be able to fix it. I was then told they could try their best at no charge, just that it would take some time. After waiting around a week, I was told it was finished, and stopped by to pick it up. They ended up charging me $15.00. After questioning it on the phone I was told to solely stop by and get it.

When I came to get it I was told again there would be a charge of $15.82 and that I had to pay that. I payed it, but the gold snith was rude after asking if the ring could be rounded more. She exclaimed "I sure hope you didn't expect anything perfect". Which I was taken back by. Overall, I am slightly dissapointed after the initial great service turning sour. The lady who rang me up however, was very sweet and deserves recognition. Unfortunately, only the gold smith made the experience upsetting.

Received a ring as a gift. Took it back in to get sized and they told me 3-6 weeks. Who wants to wait 6 weeks to wear a brand new gift ring? They were not even especially kind or helpful about it but rather condescendingly lectured me about it. The ring is beautiful, so I'll give credit for that - but I'm confident better service is to be had elsewhere.

Hi Melissa - First of all, thank you for your feedback. We are concerned that the experience you feel that your mom had is not representative of the service we've been providing for over 77 years. We understand how valuable family heirlooms are and how frustrating it can be if you feel that your piece was not cared for. We do have the original ticket and we see that your mom chose not to have any service done with us, and that the ring was returned in its original form. Feel free to stop in or give us a call if you'd like to discuss this further.

My parents have done business here since 1963. This establishment sent out my mothers wedding rings(that she got from me as I was the original owner) for an estimate on repairs and they were returned a different size, the width of the bands different with considerable amounts of gold missing. When informed of this they basically called my mother a liar. Her rings are now ruined and there was not even an offer to fix the size or anything.

Don't take your jewelry there if you are on any sort of time frame! This place grossly overworks their goldsmith to the point where she is working on if the day before you are supposed to have it back! They told me 3-4 weeks. Turns out there was NO WAY it would be 3 (which they knew) and they based "4 weeks" on the date, not the day of the week it was dropped off.

This made it closer to FIVE WEEKS before it was ready. The work was fine. (I just had a re-size) I brought these points up to the manager and she wanted to blame the goldsmith and didn't seem to care. What a waste. Go somewhere else where they care about their customers!
