I inherited 3 rings, they all needed to be resized for my use. Lireille was able to do a wonderful job with all 3, 1 of which was a very unique band the artist had to replicate in order to resize. They also completed a new engraving. The consultation, communication and turn around time was perfect.

The best, most original collection of jewelry in the Bay Area. My boyfriend buys all my presents here for special occasions and they always make me happy. That's pretty good, right?

Whenever I visit my daughter in CA, I always make a point of visiting Lireille (she used to live right around the block). She moved to Pinole, but I still come back to Oakland and Piedmont Ave. to shop and the purchases I've made at Lireille are very special to me!

I have been a customer for many years buying gifts and personal treasures as well. Yan is a fantastic local business woman with an eye for interesting art pieces. I'm always inspired when I visit her gallery. Sometimes to shop and sometimes just to say hello. And then inevitably shop! I highly recommend Lireille to anyone looking for fine art pieces at very fair prices. Her selection from numerous artists, are a treat to look at. And then inevitably shop!

I've been going to this store for years. The owner Yan is so professional and not high pressure at all. She supports local artists and has curated a gorgeous and unique collection of art and jewelery. I am currently in the process of having some rings designed with an artist who's jewelery she carries in the store. Yan has been instrumental in coordinating everything, sitting with us during consultations and asking all the right questions that I was too shy to ask.

She knew what I wanted and is making sure I get it. For the other reviewers that had experience with Steve, he is no longer at the store so I recommend you give it another shot. Yan is lovely and the service is excellent.

This 5 star does not due justice to the extraordinary, service and merchandise of this great store. The unique and lovely rings captured my girlfriend's eye. She is now my wife. I found it breathtaking and seeing how happy she is wearing this ring touches my heart. If you are looking for a different kind of jewelry store, where quality jewelry and lovely service are in one shop- look no further. I am delighted I have discovered this gem of a store. Also, Yan is a great professional and did an outstanding job.

Yan has made two diamond rings for my partner. For the first ring, I came in with very specific measurements and requirements and she found the perfect ring that met all our needs. She very patiently taught me the ins and outs of choosing diamonds. The second ring was custom made and designed from the ground up. We chose the center stone from a wide selection.

We were kept updated throughout the whole process, from 3D CAD design to a 3D printed mockup, and she listened to our feedback. It's a beautiful, one-of-a-kind engagement ring. Yan also knows what kind of jewelry my partner likes and she makes excellent recommendations. I've found several of her favorite earrings at Lireille.

This business is concerned about the artists they represent as well as their customers. I visited there recently and was really impressed with their jewelry selection as well as the art they are showing. I recommend stopping by.

I'm so happy that there is a store of this caliber in Oakland. Every piece here, be it jewelry or wall art, is so striking and unique. Every single piece of jewelry I've purchased from Lireille has made me happy in that I am supporting a local gem of a store and several talented artisans. Wonderfully curated shop, filled with what are sure to be treasured family heirlooms.

I took my engagement ring here to have it finished--antique stone set and sized. I talked with Steve for awhile both on the phone and in person. I told him I would be going away for a couple of weeks on business and that I wanted a family member to pick up my ring once it was complete. Steve stated it had to be sent out to "his guy" and it would be ready in a couple of days.

When my family member picked it up she sent me photos and I immediately noticed some of the larger diamonds missing from the halo setting. Steve told me they can't be held responsible as I trusted a third party to pick up my ring. I ended up paying for the replacement stones, somewhere around $100, since I needed to get engaged at the time. I would not trust this store or their partners/jewelers to do work for me, and therefore I would not recommend. I definitely feel like they took advantage of my situation.

Had such a good experience with this jewelry store. We were looking for just the right necklace for our mom. While there were many beautiful and original pieces on display, nothing was exactly right. Yan showed us some images and basically helped us choose different design elements to create the perfect necklace: white gold chain with a small diamond and a larger garnet.

The price was within our budget, so we ordered it and it arrived about 2 weeks later. Last night we gave it to mom, and she was so happy! Thank you, Yan, for helping us to show mom how much we love her!

A great place to buy jewelry works of art. I love going in and looking around. The owner is very friendly and remembers what we have bought in the past. She is not high pressure. They have a variety of gorgeous things. Great for presents.

Yan and Lireille have been such a pleasure to work with. Yan and my now husband designed an engagement ring better than I could have ever imagined. Her attention to detail and perfectionist eye helped us find the perfect wedding bands and made the process fun and 100% supportive. Furthermore she cleaned my grandma's antique necklace that I wore on wedding day and made it sparkle like new. AND helped me find matching earrings that I love and wear all the time now. We've recommended friends here too and they've also had the same great experience. Responsive, welcoming, thoughtful, creative, and friendly. Couldn't have found a better jeweler!

I had a 14k gold ring repaired here recently, and they were outstanding. The ring was buckled, and had snapped. Yan was extremely helpful, engaged, and a pleasure to deal with. When I picked it up a week later, it was immaculately repaired and polished to perfection. Just brilliant.

This is my go-to shop for all of my jewelry. My fiance first met Yan when he was having a custom engagement ring made for me. He had designed it himself as a take on an antique costume ring that I had since I was a child. Very few jewelers in the area wanted to take on this job. I also wanted to stones to be absolutely conflict free. Yan went above and beyond for us.

She did and redid the mold for the ring until it was perfect. To satisfy my anxiety about mining practices she suggested using a lab grown ruby (the ruby is the main stone), and ordered several for us so we could compare quality and color (she also showed us traditional conflict free rubies). Not only was Yan patient and understanding about our many special requests, the pieces that come out of her store are truly stunning. I also love that she works with local artists and ethical sources. What's not to love!

I absolutely love this jewelry store. A lot of their art and jewelry is locally made, and most of the work is handmade. My mom bought a beautiful pair of druzy earrings here, and bought me a beautiful ring. I recently also approached one of the owners (Yan) with a difficult task: to melt down my grandmother's wedding band and engagement rings and recast them into my wedding band.

She worked with a local artist- and they did it! My ring turned out absolutely gorgeous, I am so happy to wear this ring and know that I am wearing the original metal and diamonds from my grandmother. The work is not only beautiful, but it was also done very fast. Yan is super nice, such a beautiful spirit, and was very responsive during the process. Love love love Lireille.

Five stars. All I had done was an engagement ring resizing. Paid a little extra to have it coated. Job was perfect! Beautiful selection of locally crafted jewlery. Ring I brought in was a place holder. Will be looking here for some custom work. And service was awesome. Thank you.

I had a great experience with Steve/Steven the first time I brought a necklace in a while ago to get repaired. He was patient and friendly and helped me fix my necklace on site and didn't charge me much. But this second/most recent experience has soured me on this place. When another/different necklace broke, I immediately knew I wanted to bring it back to Lireille.

This time was totally different. I brought in my necklace and Steve again helped me. He said it had to be soldered somewhere in SF, but he would bring it in to the city for me. I told him I was leaving on a trip in a few days and he said he'd have the necklace back before then "for sure" and would "call me when it was ready". The day before my trip, when he said that it would be ready, I still hadn't received a call, so I called the store.

I spoke to Yan and she was very apologetic and tried to get a hold of Steve for me, but couldn't. She apologized on behalf of Steve. I ended up going on my trip without my necklace. I came back and got the necklace and Steve was not there, but Yan was there. She was helpful and was very nice. The necklace was "fixed" in that the part that needed to be soldered was soldered, but the jump ring on the other side, the non-damaged side, was now a copper color.

This is a silver necklace and I know the jump ring was definitely not copper-colored when I dropped off the necklace. Yan tried to get a hold of Steve to figure out if he changed the ring or something, but couldn't get a hold of him. He called me last night and left a voicemail message and said that the jump ring is very inexpensive, etc. etc. but didn't actually explain why the jump ring was copper now.

And never apologized for not getting my necklace back to me in time in the first place. And never apologized or acknowledged that he never called me to tell me that the necklace would not be back in time for my trip, like he had promised. I called his cell back this morning and got a voicemail, so I called the store. I spoke to Yan and she said Steve was out but would be back and would call me back in about an hour. I'm still waiting for a call, hours later.

And I highly doubt I'll ever actually get a call back from him. I'm sad that this 2nd experience was so bad. I thought I had found a local store that I could support long-term, and thought I had found a place to take all of my jewelry for repairs if necessary. But this recent experience has definitely turned me off from Lireille and I will not be returning. Yan is really great. It's too bad I have to take away so many stars for the store because Steve was horrible to work with this time around. Steve's customer service skills leave a lot to be desired.

And I guess I'll never know why my necklace now has a copper jump ring on it. It makes my otherwise nice silver necklace look totally chintzy and cheap. It would've been very simple for Steve to a) get my necklace back to me when he said he would, or b) call me to tell me it would take longer. And on top of that, if he damaged the jump ring and changed it out for me, or if the soldering people damaged it and had to change it out, or damaged it and made the ring turn copper, I would've understood.

I don't think it's too much to ask that you get your stuff back when promised, or at least updates about the status, and that if your property is changed or damaged, you at least get an explanation of why.

First contacted the store through email about jade bangles. It is so hard to find REAL quality jade in the bay area. I had been looking for a place that could help me with sizing and really finding a good fit. After a few email conversations I decided to go in. As soon as I walked in I felt welcome by the gentleman. I had my son with me and they offered us chairs and made us feel at home.

After about an hour looking and trying on different jade bangles, with their help I settled on the perfect one. They advised me that if for some reason I changed my mind that they would work with me (of course within a reasonable time frame) in order to find my 'perfect' jade bangle. One week later I am still 100% satisfied. I appreciate their amazing service and will definitely be back in the future.

A bit pricy, with nice and patient service that goes the extra mile. Custom orders can take ages to complete, although I made it clear I wasn't in a rush. I'd add a star if they had a better selection of $100-200 items.

This store has a very impressive selection of jewelry and art from a broad spectrum of designers, with an eclectic mix of styles. As the daughter of a talented jewelry designer, it is easy for me to recognize quality work, and this store is full of beautifully arranged, well-made pieces. I also appreciate the charming, helpful staff. Every time that I go in "just to look, " I find several amazing pieces at a minimum, and the owner is a lovely person to shop with.

She is pleasant and knowledgeable without the pressure of typical sales people. I purchased a gorgeous necklace for my friend, designed by one of the owners, and had to have it sized because she is quite petite. They took care of it for me in just one day and it was perfectly adjusted. I have my eye on several pieces of their collection from an incredible Italian designer. I will most definitely go back.

Lireille's tag line is "Gallery of contemporary Jewelry and Art". The store is essentially that. A beautifully layed-out jewelry store with museum-like display cases peppering the floor, and colorful art upon the walls. I spoke with the owner and she told me that her idea for the store formed organically. She didn't know exactly what she wanted to do, and she ended up with an exquisite jewelry store & gallery showcasing local and international artists.

I purchased an awesome set of earrings for my mother that were designed and created in Italy by a designer named Alberto Luzzi. The stuff in here isn't especially cheap, but it isn't over the top either. To sum it up, I found that she had a very expansive collection of jewelry that would be sure to suit the taste of any woman in your life.

She also carrys jade bangles, jade rings, and wooden rings for reasonable prices in boxes at the register. If you are in the neighborhood, this wonderful locally owned establishment is definitely worth stopping by.
