We hope that Max's is unlike any other jewelry store that you've visited. In our boutique, we strive to create a casual environment where shoppers feel warmly welcomed and informed as they browse our collections. We represent designers who we believe are the best at what they do, are true artisans and craftspeople, and who are creating jewelry that is beautiful, unique, and, sometimes, a bit unconventional.

Our approach to selling jewelry at Max's is wrapped around the idea of telling stories that we love-about the artist and the inspiration behind a piece of jewelry that you're going to put on your body to help tell your personal story to the world.
Services
I hope that those of you who have been to Max's know that I've tried to create a store that has things that are new and different for shoppers in the Twin Cities, and one that's fun, too! I spent over twenty years in the corporate business world, and much of that time was "on the road." It was during my travels that I realized that there were some great things out there that I had never seen here in Minneapolis/St.
As a thank you for shopping at Max's, you earn 10% of all full-priced purchases in the form of Max's rewards points. Those points are eligible to be used as dollars off on a subsequent purchase. We keep track of the points for you, so there's no need to carry a card or enter a special code. If you're shopping online and want to apply your points, please let us know via our contact form or chat with us below.

We got my now wifes engagement ring here. we were looking for a specific brand and they just so happened to carry it. having never even looked at engagement rings in person yet this experience was great and fun. they were super responsive via email when my wife was asking questions before we went in. when we did finally go in they remembered her and were ready to go with the items we were looking for. they didnt push us to spend above what we wanted or make us change our mind. they made us feel like the decisions we were making were the right ones because they were the ones we wanted to make. they also answered all our questions and follow up questions that we had when we got the ring. they overall made the experience one we will always look back on and have great memories of. the only reason i wouldnt give them a 5 star rating is the box we got with the ring wasnt exactly what we would have liked. it didnt feel as special as we thought we would have got and we werent the biggest fan of the chocolate brown box for the engagement ring. wished we could have had some say in that. other than that though i wouldnt hesitate to go back here and make another purchase.

Unique pieces that are modern, artisan. Well curated and a wide price range available. A small, unique decor section and very nice chocolate section that makes for excellent, presentable gifts.

My entire experience with Max's was the best! The service is amazing-from in-person to texting to keep me updated, all 100% timely and helpful. The communication between them and the two designers was also great-they kept me up to date and met deadlines without compromising quality. I will definitely be back and highly recommend them for custom work, as well as shopping the amazing jewelry and chocolate they have in-store. A true pleasure and full trust in recreating my wedding rings. Thank you Max's, Anne Sportun and Rebecca Overmann!

I worked with Ellen to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend and it was the best experience I could have hoped for. She was extremely knowledgeable and didn't put any pressure on me to go a certain direction. I simply told her what I was looking for and she gave me several options to choose from--extremely helpful. She also was able to work with my tight timeline that I had in mind. I would HIGHLY recommend going here for jewelry--engagement rings especially--since it also supports small artists in this craft.

Ellen and her team at Max's delivered a remarkable experience for us. With 2 diamond rings handed down from grandparents, we were merely looking to have the rings resized. Instead, we got a beautifully designed new setting featuring both stones that went beyond our expectations. Aaron Henry's design was amazing and, in our minds, flawless. We certainly recommend Max's for anyone looking for something special, only to leave with something extraordinary. Mike and Carole

Had wonderful conversation with staff about the store's history and the artists they work with. They assisted me in selecting and ordering a gift to myself from a designer I've long coveted - offering wise counsel and good humor. I can't wait to receive it. Many thanks!

Recently bought my wedding band through Max's. Fantastic selection with local artists. The gals at Max's helped me resize and coordinate with the vendor. They made the whole process go swimmingly well. Great people and great shop! Thinking I'll have to get back there for some chocolate soon.

I could have stayed for the afternoon, just to chat with the delightful staff! I was able to find exactly what I was looking for and my necklace received a needed cleaning. This is a lovely store with beautiful jewelry and gifts.

I bought a 25th anniversary gift for my wife. They told me it would be ready a day or two before we left town. Then the store closed during the chaos following George Floyd's death. I assumed we would change our plans. But the staff at Max's came in anyway, received my order, assembled the jewelry, and notified me to pick it up in time for our departure. This is a store that keeps its word.

Helpful, knowledgeable, professional people who go above and beyond in order to provide excellent customer service. In my case I was simply looking for some information and not looking to purchase anything but they were interested and helpful anyway. I would definitely go back to them to purchase jewelry.

The women working at Max's were incredible! My partner and I went to Max's to pick out an engagement ring. After going to several jewelry stores in the area, we always felt like we were molding our taste to the rings available which were often just too traditional. We finally found Max's which carries a variety of small jewelry designers with a more unique flavor modern style. Kate, who was absolutely wonderful, was able to show us around and ordered 6 additional rings to try on at the store at no cost to us. There was no pressure to pick and choose and they worked with my budget. I will absolutely recommend this shop to any of my friends looking to buy an engagement ring.

I found Max's by accident after enjoying a cappuccino down the street. The first time I shopped, I felt as if I were in a museum and I enjoyed the variety of artists on display in the store. The second time I walked in, I went for a trunk show and eagerly purchased a chain and two charms. After this first purchase, I was hooked! One of the reasons is that when you buy jewelry, you receive 10% of that purchase as points toward your next purchase.

In dollars, that means that for every hundred dollars spent, you earn 10 dollars toward the next bobble. Of course, if the jewelry wasn't so alluring, the points wouldn't matter. If you want some original, interesting and beautiful jewelry, go to Max's! This is a "gem" of a store. And to top it off, the staff is great, nice but not pushy. And, to top it off, you can taste the candy, which is for sale, of course!

I think that sarah p's 3 star review is right on. located in the tony excelsior and grand complex, Max's offers a kind of schizophrenic variety of gifts that run the gamut from chocolates and caramels, to five dollar greeting cards, to forty dollar candles and hundred dollar gemstone necklaces. One VERY cool thing about Max's; however, is their reward program. When you sign up, 10% of every purchase is stored in an account for you to redeem at any time and at any amount. Pretty cool!

I've been eyeing these stackable rings for a while. I'll go in, try them on, gaze at them lovingly, and then take them off. It's this dance I do. Someday, I might even buy them. Max's is a cute little jewelry/gift store in the Excelsior Grand area. As I live near there, I find myself popping in occasionally. I've purchased chocolates for friends and my mom bought a lovely glass ornament one year. It doesn't have "something for everyone" as say, a Bibelot or Corazon, but there are lots of lovely pieces that are sure to brighten everyone's day.
