Just received two customs pieces and am thrilled with the results. Repurposing diamonds from an engagement band with a vintage piece of carved turquoise yielded a ring that was modern yet meaningful. I enjoyed the collaboration of the design process by the talented team of Mia Gemma led by Irene Barbieri and found the results to mean so much more than an off the shelf experience. Jewelry does not get better than that!

I repurposed some old jewelry and the pieces came out beautifully! It was such an easy, fun process and the final pieces were exactly what I wanted. Absolutely recommend to anyone interested in repurposing their old jewelry!

I recently purchased an engagement ring from Mia Gemma and couldn't have been happier! Irene was so helpful in guiding my partner and I through the process. She quickly identified the style that we were interested in and gave plenty of great recommendations. Mia Gemma has a particularly impressive collection of the unique pieces from local and independent artists. We ended up with a beautiful orange sapphire ring that fit us perfectly. We will be back for our wedding bands!

While their cute shop in downtown DC was closed, Mia Gemma still had great inventory on an easy-to-navigate website and Irene was very pleasant and responsive cia the online chat.

I went to Mia Gemma to purchase a birthday gift for a dear friend. I had a price range in mind as well as the type of gift I was looking for. Odaybea was amazing! She showed me what was available in the store, as well as suggested a piece to bring in the next day. Not only did she bring in that piece, she was thoughtful enough to bring in two slightly different pieces in the same price range.

I ended up with a beautiful necklace for my friend. It was wrapped in beautiful packaging a I was so excited to give it as a gift. The service is excellent and thoughtful, and I love the fact that all of the jewelry is artisan made and unique. I don't know why it took me so long to go into this GEM of a store! I will always use them for my special and unique purchases for gifts and for myself! Also ask about jewelry restyling. I am taking two pieces in next week. I highly recommend!

I had a fantastic experience working with the artist, Deb, and the owner, Irene, as we brainstormed different ways to recombine gold, amethyst, and diamonds from my parents' wedding rings. The alchemy of turning yellow gold into rose gold was magical! I can't recommend their service and craftsmanship enough.

They are commited to customer satisfaction. I placed a custom order for a set of earrings and scheduled pickup for the Thursday before Christmas. The earrings were not ready on time, but the store overnighted them to New Jersey on Christmas Eve. I was dissatisfied with the earrings, but Mia Gemma remade the earrings at no charge. The final earrings are perfect. I was angry that they missed the original deadline, by their effort to fix the mistake made up for it.

I cannot say enough good things about the store. From start to finish, working with them was painless. They asked all the right questions initially, worked with me to make sure it was exactly what we wanted, stayed in touch with me throughout the process, and got the ring back to me more than a week before they said it would be finished. It was my best jewelry shopping experience ever. Irene Barbieri, Owner of the place explained the difference between stones and finally recommended the ring which my wife loved. After that she helped me to adjust the size. Since i was on the business trip i left the ring and she took care of contacting with the artist and sending me the adjusted ring over the USPS. Thanks, Irene!

When my girlfriend and I went engagement-ring shopping, Mia Gemma was the first place we went and -- after a couple stops elsewhere for comparison -- the last. Irene had a terrific, beautiful selection and couldn't have been more welcoming. No pressure at all, and she asked questions that drew out possibilities, likes and dislikes. We knew nothing walking in and felt far more comfortable with the process and the range of options by the time we left.

Her focus on working with artists also was important. The selection felt more unique and creative (but not wild looking!) than what we'd seen elsewhere, yet still there was a substantial (and helpful) array of prices and options. When it was time to buy, Irene was very helpful in corralling all the details and making the work easy and relaxed. We're looking forward to going back again, just to say hello and show her the ring on its destination! We'd recommend Mia Gemma to anyone.

My husband and i bought our wedding bands here. They are gorgeous, but the customer service was not the best.

Their jewelry is not run of the mill items. They have some unique pieces and while some items are pretty pricey, not everything is. I purchased a few items for special occasions. A couple years ago I purchased a silver and pearl necklace and matching earrings for my 25th anniversary. This year, I purchased another set of earrings that also match the necklace. for my anniversary I get so many compliments on that necklace.

I lost the diamond from my engagement ring and purchased a unique ring with four small diamonds from Mia Gemma as a replacement. I wear it every day and I love it. I have been very happy with my purchases from this store, When we have made purchases, my husband and I have been very happy with the service at Mia Gemma. The people in the store have been very helpful and polite to us even when we just went in into look but not did not purchase.

Mia Gemma has some fantastic jewelry! I had a wonderful experience shopping there with great customer service. I bought a pair of earrings and wanted a bracelet to match it, and one of the ladies who works there was incredibly helpful in helping me select the right piece from the designer, taking my wrist measurement, and contacting the designer to get a price quote within days.

She was in touch with me promptly by e-mail and by phone. The piece arrived within 3 weeks. It's a bit of a pricey shop, but they carry designers who you can't find elsewhere in DC. I definitely recommend it for all jewelry afficionados!

I had a lovely experience at Mia Gemma. The selection was great and the customer service was very good while I was selecting my ring. I think they need to increase staff training on the computer system but I didn't mind being the guinea pig too much!

The jewelry was heart-stopping. the customer service? i walked into this tiny little place full of anticipation. there were some lovely necklaces on the counter, and i reached out to touch them. wow, wish i hadn't, because the woman behind the counter literally snatched them from under me. i can only think she thought i meant to steal them. yow-sah. after that, i only stayed in the store because my sister and my 6 yr old daughter were so agog with the merchandise. i was so put off by the aformentioned incident that i couldn't really see anything else. i can't imagine what that woman was thinking, but this store's claim of "premier customer service" is waaaay off.
