Scherer's Jewelers is a full service jewelry store located in Amherst, NY, just outside of Buffalo. Scherer's Jewelers has been dedicated for over 118 years and five generations to quality craftsmanship and integrity in the jewelry industry. Scherer's Jewelers is operated by Richard M. Scherer, Sr. along with his son, Christopher Scherer.
Jewelry is meant to be worn, and when it comes time for cleaning or repair, we are here to help. Our onsite goldsmith has over 44 years of experience and can bring your jewelry back to its original beauty. Scherer's Jewelers has developed relationships with all the major watch brands and is capable of handling all your service needs for your watch.
At Scherer's Jewelers, we strive to make buying an engagement ring an enjoyable experience. Together we will look at styles of engagement rings and discuss details such as diamond shapes, cut, clarity, color, and carat weight, and metal options. Once we have an idea of what you are looking for, we will bring in an additional selection of diamonds for you to choose from.
We will start with an initial consultation to get an idea of what you are looking for in your custom piece of jewelry. Many times this involves re-working family jewelry into a new custom piece. Bring any sketches, photos, or gemstones you would like incorporated into your new piece of jewelry or engagement ring.

We bought an engagement ring from an estate jeweler that I loved, but had issues with the construction of the ring. The diamond kept coming loose. Turns out I had a ring made from 2 parts of two rings and the setting was the wrong shape for my stone. I went to Scherer's for help after talking to friends about where they go. I spoke with Erin and she was great - answered all my questions and I was offered 2 plans to fix the ring.
I decided to get the ring remade exactly as it was - and I am SO HAPPY I did. Its perfect. It's even better than it was before! I was so happy with the quality and more so the patience with the help in deciding what to do. Jewelry is pricy, yet I feel I got a fair price, especially for the great ring I got back. I would recommend anyone who is looking for new jewelry to check this place out, good selection. I would also recommend anyone looking for help fixing older pieces DEFINATLY go here, and check it out.

Chris was a very shady salesman. I called him the day prior letting him know what chain I wanted and told him I would be coming in the next day. I visited the store today, and when we were looking through the catalog I noticed prices for the exact chain I was interested in were covered up with a sticky note displaying a personal price made up by our very own, Chris.
The worst part is that the price on the sticky note was DOUBLE the amount listed underneath in the actual catalog. When confronting him about this, he was befuddled and had no valid explanation. Instead, he tried telling me that out of the entire catalog only the specific chain I wanted was a typo and somehow was the wrong price. I would absolutely NEVER recommend this jeweler and more specifically everyone should avoid doing business with Chris. Unprofessional, inadequate and rude. So very disappointed.

AMAZING service! The Scherer's are genuine, honest people & will genuinely lead you in the right direction. Ask for Chris-he has outstanding customer service & is extremely knowledgeable. Chris found a way to take care of me durning the current Pandemic-and any company that goes out of their way to help you durning these times deserves recognition! All's it took was a few phone calls, an email & a text or two for him to take care of me.it was a completely seamless process, that even most large corporations can't seem to master.

Had a wonderful experience! I stumbled upon The Scherer family on google when I was looking for a place to get my engagement/wedding rings fixed! They were so welcoming & made me feel so comfortable with leaving my ring with them! They did a phenomenal job repairing my ring & also cleaned it too! Also, loved the price for the repair! I will for sure be returning & you guys are now my new jeweler! Thank you so so much! I highly recommend this place!

My fiance went to Scherer's for my engagement ring and we both purchased our wedding bands from them as well. I cannot say enough good things about their personalized service and excellent selection. Chris spent time with my fiance and myself on several occasions helping us pick out the perfect rings that were customized exactly as we envisioned them.
