We're incredibly proud of our Boston roots. Even though we loved the time we spent in the Jeweler's Building, the hustle and bustle just wasn't the place for us. With the Big Dig and restructuring of transportation in the city, we knew we needed to break free. Twenty-Five years ago, we decided to break the mold and set up shop on the south shore, bringing those historic and traditional Jeweler's Building values with us.
Because every piece of jewelry is unique, there are many different intricacies to keep in mind. Our jewelry repair craftsmen are true masters of their trade; they know metal and know how to work with it. They know what can and cannot be done, and never risk making changes that could irreparably damage the piece.
One carat equals to 0.2 grams or 200 milligrams. Carat weight is the prime factor that determines the weight of a diamond. Larger diamonds are undoubtedly costlier. Carat makes expressing diamond weight easier as compared to milligrams. Instead of giving three labels to diamonds weighing 20 milligrams, 211 milligrams and 220 milligrams, carat offers a category for fitting the diamonds in a one category, placing these diamonds in one-carat range. One should not forget that high carat weight does not necessarily mean a larger looking diamond.

My fiance and I had the BEST experience at south shore diamond exchange. Both my engagement ring and our wedding bands were absolutely beautiful. Rob was so knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to us so we could make the best choices for us. Our rings are stunning and we are so thankful for his help!

I wanted to have my diamond reset after twenty years, stopped into South Shore Diamond exchange, and found more than I ever expected. They have an amazing selection of engagement rings, and settings, stacking bands and so many beautiful pieces for any occasion, you won't need to travel into the jewelers building to find something special and unique.
I found the perfect three stone ring. My husband and I went back in when the jeweler was on the premises and he reset my ring the same day. I absolutely love it! Thank you Rob and Courtney for making the process so great for us. You're both knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Can't wait for the next occasion, I already have my eye on something :

South Shore Diamond Exchange was great. They have some of the best staff around. I went in the upgrade my rings, they gave me several options and provided just the right amount of feedback. I never felt pushed in one direction or that they were trying to upsell me! Would definitely recommend you start and end here!

We did not have a good experience with South Shore Diamond Exchange My husband bought me a bracelet at Christmas which was shellfish with a sparkling coating. It was beautiful but you couldn't leave it on for long because it irritated your arm it was so rough. I brought it back and the owner said it couldn't be returned. I couldn't understand this because it was a Christmas gift and should have been abled to be returned.
Finally he said he'd take it if I found something else. They had low inventory in gold but a sales person brought out a bracelet that I liked I had 2 to be repaired which he said weren't worth it so he'd take them and some cash. I agreed but the length was too long so an inch was to be removed. I went to retrieve this after a few days and the sales girl had a hard time joining the clasp on my wrist.
When I got home I saw it was twisted do to the clasp being put on upside down. I went back to the store, again, and had to leave the bracelet until the repair jeweler returned. Also the inch removed was a half inch. I finally picked up my bracelet and what bothered me was not one person said they were sorry for the inconvenience. I will bring this to another jeweler to have the other half inch removed so it's not sliding on my hand. I do not recommend this jewelry store!

I can't recommend South Shore Diamond Exchange enough! I was thoroughly pleased with my experience from the moment I walked in. The store is beautiful and it's clear there is a lot of care put in to every detail. I was immediately greeted by Sydney who showed great patience and care as she helped me pick out a chain for my boyfriends birthday. It was my first time buying jewelry so she really walked me through the process, helping me to make the right decision at an extremely fair price point.
She was very knowledgeable, thorough, and friendly as she helped me look through their abundant variety. She even gift wrapped it after she was done, an extra step that I happily appreciated. Sydney also helped to clean two of my rings that I was wearing, which I didn't even plan on. It was a generous surprise that showed the great customer service and care that South Shore Diamond Exchange offers.
A few days later, after the chain was given as a present, a piece of the clasp broke. I reached out to Sydney who sold it to me and she generously offered to repair it for me. The turn around time was speedy and proved that I made the right choice in shopping here. The attention to detail and the support the team at South Shore provide is unsurpassed. After dropping off my watch that was special to me, naturally I was concerned about the outcome. You read and hear about projects coming back in disastrous conditions but not here. My GMT Master came back and frankly looks like it just came out of the box! Not only does it look brand new but moreover it works like a Rolex should, perfect. They back their work with a one year warranty and I couldn't be more pleased with a jewler. I truly recommend these guys!

South Shore Diamond Exchange will be my jeweler for all future needs! I went there because my brother bought an engagement ring there and had a wonderful experience working with Courtney. I had lost a diamond in my engagement ring and brought my ring to South Shore Diamond Exchange to replace the diamond. Upon closer inspection, Courtney identified that the setting was warped and more diamonds were loose.
I decided to reset my engagement ring and include an additional halo. The customer service, attention to detail, pricing and turn around time exceeded all my expectations. Courtney was phenomenal to work with and was truly excited about the finished product. South Shore Diamond Exchange is fantastic and I look forward to going there for my next piece of jewelry.
