Jo Sparrow is an amazing person. She will go the extra mile for her customers. I've used their services several times now over the past 5 years. Most recently, Jo sold an estate watch for me that I had never worn. It was of no use to me. The transaction was quick. The other ladies that work there are delightful, too. They're very personable while being professional at the same time. And their jewelry is a work of art. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

This a small shop, but unparalleled in quality and service. If you want it, Jo can find it or probably make it. I personally won't go anywhere else for real jewelry. I discovered this place when I went in there when I lived nearby in 1991, but now I'll travel a long ways to go to Sparrowood when it comes to the important pieces, or even just to find something fun for someone. it also is good to know and trust your jeweler as life goes along!

Have bought many items from Sparrowood over the years and they are terrific. Pricing is competitive, white glove service and the ability to design pretty much anything you want. I would not make a major jewelry purchase without checking here first and I don't even live in Raleigh anymore!

Sparrowood quickly outshined the multitude of churn and burn diamond stores in my search for an engagement ring and made choosing them a no brainer. The staff is wonderful and really cared about accommodating my needs for a custom made ring using an unconventional design and a stone I already owned.

They took the time to identity the vintage of my diamond and sought out other complimentary stones to match the cut for a reasonable price. The casting was superb, and the ring came out spectacular. Highly recommend this place. I shopped a couple of other places in the Raleigh area that felt more like a car dealership. Deb was patient with me as I changed my mind multiple times because I had no idea what I wanted. In the end I got an amazing engagement ring and my fiance is very happy.

I really wanted a unique wedding band so I stopped by one afternoon after seeing a photo on instagram of an amazing ring their custom jewelry designer, Audrey, had created. I met Deb when I came into the shop and she picked up on my style almost immediately! Over the next few weeks she and Jo helped me create the wedding band of my dreams using a mix of new stones as well as several worn by my late mother.

When my fiance came by the store to see the design, he loved it so much that he decided to have his band custom made as well. Our rings turned out absolutely stunning! Audrey is truly an artist! I am so thankful we found Sparrowood not only because the entire staff is helpful, honest, knowledgeable, and patient but also because they really treated us like family.

I could go on and on! I have since ordered an anniversary band and can't wait to have another unique piece made at some point in the future! Thank you for everything Jo, Deb, and Audrey!

Our go-to resource. They have repaired watches including a movement replacement on an elderly Luminox for which Luminox said no relacement was available, innumerable batteries, watchband pins and ring cleaning and inspections. As attractive as their display of unique in-store jewelry pieces is, we were wowed when they redesigned and custom built a ring to replace one we lost. Very reasonably priced for the stones and craftsmanship of their creation. If you have a design in mind, do yourself a favor and ask Gretchen about it. Highly recommended!

Excellent. I recently worked with Jo and Deb to purchase an engagement ring and couldn't believe how much fun I had throughout the process. They prepared for our initial meeting by having a number of loose stones and settings ready for when I came in. Jo took a ton of time educating me about diamonds and showing me different stones; I really felt like I could trust them which was important to me on such a large purchase.

We didn't find the perfect stone that day, so Jo and Deb worked with me over text and phone, sending me updates when they found what they thought would be the right fit. They really went the extra mile and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend.

Incredible place with people who will go above and beyond to help you find exactly the piece you're looking for. After a mishap with the shipping for my wedding jewelry, Deb helped me find and order a bracelet three days before our wedding ceremony. Not only that, but since our wedding was out of town, she overnighted the jewelry to get it there in time and coordinated a pick up with one of my friends who was still in town when it arrived. I couldn't be more pleased with the bracelet and, even more so, overwhelmed with her willingness to go help me track something down within such a small timeframe!

Woohoo small businesses! I have this gold chain that I never take off--I've been wearing it for the past five years and it broke for the second time recently. I called in and the sales associate told me it would probably be about $25 to fix the broken chain, which was amazing because, when I went to the retailer of the gold chain, they told me that it wasn't fixable and I would have to buy a new chain for over $100.

When I went in, after they observed the chain, they concluded price was $25 as predicted. They told me it would be a maximum of 2 weeks, but probably less. They kept their word of having my chain ready in 2 weeks despite the "snowpocalypse" that occurred in the interim. Based on my observations while at the store, the staff all seem really friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgable. I'm just really happy that they do jewelry repair for such a reasonable price.

I don't want my gold chain to break again, so I won't say I can't wait to come back, but in the event that I do need more jewelry repair, I have found my people!

Highly, highly, highly recommended. Earlier this year, I wanted to start shopping for a diamond engagement ring, but had no real idea where to go. I consulted yelp and spent a few weekends visiting the favorably rated stores in the triangle, and pretty quickly I decided that I wanted to give this store my business. I worked mostly with Gretchen and Jo, and right off the bat, got a great vibe from them. Engagement ring shopping can be a rather daunting task, but they really helped me feel comfortable every step of the way.

Their small store really leads to highly personalized care, which is above all else, extremely honest and helpful. They were upfront with their goods (no deception, no rushed decisions, open dialogue) and never tried to pressure me into going above my budget or beyond what was necessary to create a stunning ring. They also really took care to listen to what I was going for, and captured exactly what I thought my girlfriend (or I guess now, fiancee) would want. Realistically, I have no complaints or criticism to offer.

Their selection might be slightly smaller than some of the other, larger stores, but if you let them know what you're looking for, they will bring it in for you. In my case, they only had a few diamonds in the size/price range I was looking at the first time I came in, but when I came back the next time, they had brought in many more in that range for me to take a look at. Similarly, for the setting I was looking for, they had a few examples in store, but ended up ordering a different one specifically for me, after they had gone through the books and selected a few that matched my criteria.

In the end, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The price was right, the ring is absolutely beautiful, and the experience was rather enjoyable. My fiancee loves her ring and has gotten nothing but endless compliments from her friends and family. This store is really (no pun intended) a diamond in the rough, and it is definitely worth a look if you are interested in having a more interactive and personal experience. (although if you really just wanted to just run in and get it over with, I'm sure they would be capable of that as well)

Sparrowood Jewelers ROCKS. This was the fourth jeweler I went to for engagement ring shopping and it was by far the best! Jo was the best person to talk to for information and for her honest opinion. I wanted an emerald cut stone and she brought in 7 stones for me to view. She was very patient and allowed me all the time I needed to choose the stone with the best look.

She then helped me understand the differences in wear for platinum and white gold. In all, Jo made the whole engagement ring shopping an absolute pleasure. My fiancee and I went back to choose our wedding bands and got the exact same service and attention to detail. I cannot say enough good things about this store, and I would happily choose them for anything in the future!

Sparrowood Jewelers is the place to go if you want personal attention and amazing service. My husband bought my engagement ring there after finding out that my parents love them. The ring is stunning! Gretchen helped him pick it out and then we went back and she helped us to pick out our wedding bands. They do have a small selection there so I told her what i was looking for and she found me exactly what I wanted for a great price. The service is really top notch and my husband and I will forever be thankful and loyal to this jeweler.

When no other jewelers in the area would help out on short notice, Sparrowood stepped up, saved the day and did an outstanding job. The staff are not only friendly, they take an interest in the stories behind each jewelry repair, purchase or custom order. Everyone there is very knowledgeable, and their goldsmith is outstanding.
