The Starr family has been very generous to the metalsmithing community, of which I am a part, for decades. The manager, Shawna, can answer the dumbest question to researching difficult questions. No order to small or large. Starr Gem is the hub of the jewelry making community in Tucson for good reason, they know what they are doing and share their knowledge.

I love coming here because they make you feel welcomed. The people helping you never make you feel stupid and appreciate your business.(unlike the other place on 1st that I wont name names or ever go to again) It is hard to find a Lapidary supply store in Tucson but this is a diamond amongst the few out there. Thank you. And the Diamond paste is doing amazingly on my fire agate, thank you!

Came in here to get some silver spring rings and I was really happy that they had the ones I needed and SUPER CHEAP TOO! I'm used to buying at chain craft stores so I was thrilled at the prices. However, their selection was limited in the realms I was interested in. They didn't have any silver cable chain on spools or metal blanks for stamping, this was a pretty big bummer.

The store was also pretty quiet and I felt somewhat socially anxious like I was out of place like everyone else there knew more about jewelry than me, but the lady who assisted me was very helpful.

I was ripped off by these people.no JOKE they charged me 3 times what silver sheet was worth. I'll never recommend them, nor buy from them EVER AGAIN.

Great people work here. All are very knowledgeable, and their patience level is incredible with me, the very new silversmith. The store is stocked with an huge variety of tools and supplies, in price ranges to cover beginners to pros. I can't say enough great things about this store, and my friend from Phoenix now drives down to buy from Starr for the same reasons I rave about them.
