Yellow Door Since its establishment in 1966, The Yellow Door has grown from a small little gift shop into a dynamic retail juggernaut, attracting customers from all over the country to its flagship stores in Brooklyn, Lakewood, New Jersey and Deal, New Jersey. The original core concept of the shop remains today and is key to its staying power. Great prices, luxury department store quality and selection, and the kind of small town concierge customer service that's hard to come by these days.

Unlike many other small family owned businesses that often have difficulty adapting to new tastes and trends, The Yellow Door has grown under the tutelage of second-generation owner Luna Bijou Zemmol, who took over running the business in 2005.

Our Four C's of Diamonds guide can help you decide on the most important factors when shopping for a diamond. The word carat derives from the word carob, a Mediterranean seed, which has an extremely consistent weight for measuring. The greater the carat weight, the rarer, and more valuable the diamond becomes.
Some people want to buy the biggest diamond possible. Is this always the right choice? The larger the diamond, chances are the more inclusions it likely has, and because it's larger, these inclusions are typically even more visible than on a smaller diamond. But most importantly, if the diamond cut isn't proportioned correctly, it won't return the maximum amount of light through the top of the diamond. This illustrates that no matter how large the diamond, its cut and proportions determine how brilliant the diamond really is.
Solitaire settings are great if you have a stunning singular stone that has been passed down through the generations as an heirloom, many choose to display it in a classic Solitaire setting. This setting generally allows for the maximum amount of sparkle by allowing light to pass in through the bottom sections of the ring.

I am the third generation of women in my family to shop at The Yellow Door. I can safely speak for me, my mom and my grandmother -- whenever we see that iconic Yellow Door box, we know we're going to be delighted! I got almost all my wedding and shower gifts from the Yellow Door -- and so did my mom and grandma. Our house is filled with the most beautiful and often most used giftware items from The Yellow Door.

And MOST important, nearly ALL my jewelry is from The Yellow Door. I love both genuine diamonds (just ask my hubby!) and fun costume jewels -- and they have it all. Same for my Mom. If it sparkles, I want it. And if it's from the Yellow Door, I LOVE it! I now have two adorable little girls of my own, and if they're anything like their Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandmother, they too will surely be Yellow Door shoppers.

I love Yellow Door. They have all the little "chachkies", as I was brought up saying, that anyone could ever dream of. There large selection of crystal and jewelry puts some sparkle in your eyes. Their goods are high quality with a price tag to match, though you can come across decent sales every blue moon. If you pass by and see sale, walk in, it may surprise you and you might even get lucky. When you buy something with the help of their nice staff, they give you a lovely box and will wrap it if you so desire. Yellow Door is a nice store, no complaints.
