Abraham Fishman (1892-1953;Founder), joined his brother Solomon in the United States in 1943 after making his escape via Lisbon and Tangier from his native Poland during World War II. Shortly thereafter he learned the skills of diamond cutting, and gradually began buying rough diamonds and selling them as polished on the floor of the Diamond Dealers Club to wholesalers and local jewelers.
