Growing up with parents who modeled a strong work ethic, young Joseph learned the importance of strong values and adhering to the golden rule from an early age. In 1980 Joseph Mackley founded Mackley & Company, a family business that began very simply with a desk, a chair, a telephone, and a few dollars to purchase a gem microscope. The values that were instilled in young Joe became the cornerstone of Mackley & Company.
