Kranich's Jewelers was established in York, Pennsylvania, in 1903 as Kranich Brothers Jewelers. The Kranich Brothers had stores in York, Lancaster and Altoona, Pennsylvania as well as Worcester, Mass. The Altoona store opened in 1923. Charles and Mildred Kranich operated and expanded the Altoona operation.

I had the best experience with kranichs, I would 10000% recommend them. First, we got my engagement ring there and they made the process so smooth. They listened to what we wanted and our price point and found us the perfect ring. But the biggest praise was that they custom designed my wedding band to match my engagement ring perfectly. It was kind of a complicated design but they took the time to design it and make it perfect.

Always a great experience at Kranich's! I have made many purchases here over the past few years including watches, gifts, an engagement ring and wedding bands. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. Tim, in particular, has been extremely helpful with all these important purchases. Would highly recommend Kranich's to everyone!

Ask for Kelsey if you want the best experience! You won't meet a kinder sales member at Kranich's! She listened to what I wanted and gave me a variety of options to find the best wedding band for my spouse. She gave me an amazing deal and even went above and beyond to adjust my engagement ring free of charge.

I've been to multiple jewelry stores over the years but after dealing with Kranich's, I will never go anywhere else! They make you feel like a family member here. And the deals that they give you are unbeatable! You honestly feel that you are being taken care of here. My family and I are definitely customers for life. I bought my wife's engagement ring, as well as her wedding day sapphire earrings, at this location and returned for her first anniversary present. The selection was amazing and Kelsey D. was helpful beyond description. She found a sapphire necklace that matched my wife's engagement ring and even worked with me to find the perfect chain. I will be going back to Kranichs for all my fine jewelry gifts. Between the wonderful staff, amazing selection, and outstanding prices this jewelry store just can not be beaten!

I went to this store in order to get an estimate on a pretty fine piece of jewelry of mine and not only was I lowballed on the price, but a gentlemen came over to me and when I had questions about the offer told me he didn't want my dirty jewelry and to get out! I would NEVER recommend this store. I felt discriminated as SOON as I walked in and that is not a very good feeling being a Puerto Rican America. DON'T SHOP AT THIS STORE OF HATE!

Great customer service here. My baby sister recently got married and I was tasked with having her engagement ring cleaned prior to the ceremony. I walked in with my nephew and we were greeted immediately upon entry. Once I told them what we were there for it did not take long. Handed over the ring, sat in their nice little waiting area and before we knew it the ring was clean and ready to go.
It really was that simple. And the employees were super pleasant. They chatted with me and my nephew and prior to us leaving they wanted me to pass on their best wishes to my sister and her now husband. The one thing that I enjoy about this spot is the reused they had did for the building. This use to be the Sheetz along Scalp, not the original one, but the one they rebuilt after the original caught fire.
It went through at least one change before Kranich's snatched it up upon exodus from the Johnstown Galleria. They did an amazing job with the inside and you can barely tell this use to be a gas station first or a fast food sandwich place second. I honestly thought I would never step foot in this building ever again, well I was wrong. As a note, they share the space with a tax prep business. Parking aplenty, especially since there is no longer gas pumps in the middle of the lot.

I stopped in to see if they could fix my watch band - the clasp was loose and wasn't catching right. Rather than attack it with pliers myself, I popped in to the new store. Immediately, a friendly person greeted me, heard my question and whisked my watch away to someone in the back. We stood and chatted - she didn't try to sell me anything - and then my watch was done.
No charge! We continued our chat and then I left. All she asked for payment was to tell my friends to stop in. So there you have it, friends. Stop in. They treat you like a person and you can probably find some nice jewelry, too!
