I have never had better service than with James C. Smith Fine Jewelry! My brother lost his wife, Lucy, three years ago, and lost his wedding ring as well. I visited my brother this spring and he gave me all of Lucy's jewelry. I brought all the rings, necklaces, and bracelets in and worked with Traci S., who designed the most beautiful and elegant man's ring, using almost all her diamonds and gold. Traci was very patient and listened to what I wanted to create.
Her knowledge of jewelry and artistry is vast and she expertly fashioned an absolutely gorgeous ring! Her attention to detail is exquisite and I am over the moon with with delight! Thanks you Traci and James. What a wonderful experience.

From start to finish, James, Lindsay, and his team were absolute wonders! My fiance was having a nightmare finding a place to actually listen to him when designing an engagement ring until his cousin referred him to James. They accommodated exactly what my fiance wanted in a ring and made it so quick! I wanted a wedding band that was special to the engagement ring that I hadn't seen in other bands I was looking at.
Not being in Michigan, I sent my ring in with my design idea and James quite literally brought my dream ring to life! He was so easy to work with and I am so in love with my ring! Everyone was so responsive, helpful, and worked quickly for our timelines. The beauty and quality of my ring is just unreal as well! My fiance and I are both so thankful and could not recommend enough! I included a picture of when he proposed and another after the wedding band was made :

I first met James 12 years ago when I had him design my wedding ring. With painstaking details he came up with a beautiful design that I loved! He also designed my husband's wedding band. He asks a lot of questions about what kind of design you have in mind and incorporates them but also has his own ideas to help you with your vision. A couple years later I went back and had my wedding ring upgraded. Again, he worked with me to come up with a beautiful enhanced ring that I loved.
A few months back I went to James again to have a custom ring made out of the diamonds from my mother's wedding ring. The results were stunning. He actually sat with me at his desk and used his jewelry designing software to make a beautiful ring that was perfect for me in every way. He wasn't satisfied until I loved it. I would highly recommend James C Smith Fine Jewelry. James has a passion for what he does and takes the time to make it right. He also stands behind his work and the customer service is outstanding.

James C. Smith is absolutely THE BEST jeweler in Traverse City! This jeweler has been "my jeweler" for over 25 years. He has made many fine and cherished pieces for me. Within the last few days, I had just picked up a re-design of my wedding/engagement/anniversary ring. The ring re-design was everything I had ever dreamed of and so much more! His attention to detail is like no other, and he is extremely knowledgeable and creative.
He has so many jewelry design and varied setting ideas and discusses and "brings to life" your vision. I have lived in Traverse City for most of my life and have travelled the world--but always return to Traverse City and James for all of my jewelry needs. You will not be disappointed. Bought an custom engagement ring from James a few months ago and my fiance absolutely loves it. She gets compliments on it daily. When we first got the ring, it wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but they were extremely flexible and accommodating to get the ring just right. Now it is PERFECT. We are getting both of our wedding bands there as well. The price was reasonable, the customer service was exquisite, and the product was perfect. I would recommend this business to anyone who is looking for fine jewelry.
