In 1975, Arthur Groom established Arthur Groom & Co., a high-end retail jewelry business situated in the middle of Ridgewood. In 1987, he opened a division in Bogot, Colombia, which concentrated on emeralds and gemstone enhancements. There he developed a revolutionary gemstone enhancement that is now used throughout the world.
